DIY Ice Cream Stand

Good Clean Summer Fun

School’s out for summer! This week the kids and I started tackling our summer bucket list, and at the very top of our goals was “eat lots of ice cream.”

If you’ve been reading this blog for awhile, you know we are very serious about our ice cream. So it should come as no surprise that,  on our first day out of school, Eve decided she wanted to DIY a free ice cream stand.  We made our stand with inexpensive poster board and a simple tablecloth.Easy DIY Ice Cream Stand | Simple Summer Nostalgia | Five Marigolds #yo2 #ad

She made invitations to pass out down the street.

We shopped together for the best ingredients: sugar cones, chocolate sauce, sprinkles, nuts and maraschino cherries. Easy DIY Ice Cream Stand | Simple Summer Nostalgia | Five Marigolds #yo2 #ad

For the ice cream, we filled a bucket with ice, and pre-scooped the ice cream so all she had to do was “scoop” a pre-portioned amount of ice cream into a cone.

We decided on Kemps Yo2 frozen yogurt. Eve liked the flavors like Mudslide and Chocolate Peanut Butte Fudge; I liked the clean ingredients.

This frozen yogurt has no high fructose corn syrup, no artificial flavors, and no added growth hormones. Any day that I can have salted caramel with a little less guilt is a good day.Easy DIY Ice Cream Stand | Simple Summer Nostalgia | Five Marigolds #yo2 #ad

Making the stand was a fun way to spend a lovely afternoon outdoors. But of course, the best part was the taste testing.Easy DIY Ice Cream Stand | Simple Summer Nostalgia | Five Marigolds #yo2 #ad

What an adorable idea! I’ve seen lemonade stands, cookie stands, popcorn stands, but never an icecream stand for kids!
