Cake Decorating Birthday Party for Girls

Today  I’m so excited to share a sweet Bake Shop Birthday Party my beautiful and talented friend, Petula, recently threw for her daughter’s 7th birthday.

I’m always on the lookout for fun birthday party ideas that can be thrown in the  home – especially for those cold-weather birthdays when the only option is to stay inside. The trick is finding an entertaining  idea that won’t drive the party planner (aka mom) insane or broke!

This party theme is genius because it’s a group activity, treat, and party favor, all rolled up into one.

The backdrop for this party was this beautiful tablescape she created with sweet and simple bakery treats laid out on a sequins table runner. She made the sign from layered colorful doilies and letters cut from glitter cardstock.

The birthday girl’s cake was this bright pink show-stopper, perfect for any girly-girl.

Once the girls arrived, they were outfitted with their own aprons, customized with iron-on decals that said, “Sweet Treats: Gourmet Cakes by ________.”

The table was set with pre-baked, partially frosted cakes and an array of candies, sprinkles, and colorful frosting in pastry bags, with a variety of decorating tips.

The girls were given full creative license with their cakes.

When the cakes were decorated, each girl was given her own carry out container for her original creation, featuring the same Bake Shop logo as on her apron. 
They also got fun Bake Shop themed favors, again with their custom logos on the tag.

Each favor contained a mini silicone spatula, cake pan and colorful cookie cutters. 
Call me crazy, but I think this would also be a super fun idea for Girls’ Night Out!
