Being a party hostess doesn’t have to involve a complicated menu, or even too much time. Something as simple as snacks, drinks, and a big couch is all you need. That is why you are sure to love this party mix recipe.
This party mix is also perfect for an impromptu gathering (or just a procrastinating hostess!), as it comes together quickly, with simple ingredients that you probably already have in your pantry all the time.
What you need:
- Popped popcorn
- Cheddar cheese crackers
- Pretzels
- Rice cereal squares
- Butter, melted
- Brown sugar
- Cayenne pepper
- Parika
- Garlic powder
Making your Sweet and Spicy Party Mix
- Preheat oven to 250 Degrees.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine popcorn, crackers, pretzels, and rice cereal squares.
- Using a separate bowl, melt the butter, then stir in the seasonings.
- Drizzle seasoned butter over the dry ingredients, and stir well to coat.
- Spread mixture on a cookie sheet and bake for 45 minutes, stirring every 15.
- Remove from oven, and allow to cool.

While your party mix is cooking, why not whip up a simple and festive table runner using items from around the house? No one would ever know it was your procrastinating hostess “Hail Mary Play.”
I made this table runner using freezer paper from my panty and electrical tape from my husband’s tool chest, then I added numbered stickers I had on hand.
I made varsity pendant labels using a free font called “Allstar” and printing them out on my printer.
By the time your done with your table runner, the party mix will be ready. Just cool and serve!
Beware: this snack mix goes fast! I recommend making at least two batches if you’re entertaining guests.
